Corsica& Hotel Casa Musicale in Pigna
In August 2025, I travelled to Corsica, where I spent a week at the beautiful, historic Hotel Casa Musicale, a space nestled between the mountains and the sea. The hotel welcomed me with earthy-colored rooms that whispered stories from the past, mornings with fresh orange-olive-oil cake and a sea view, organic, homegrown dinners that tasted like home, and evenings filled with the sound of the fire and Corsican folk music.

They have her full attention, and she listens. “They have been my anchor all along”, she says.

Ink artist Jiang Sanshi in her nature studio in the mountains of Taipei, Taiwan
The Taiwanese ink artist Jiang Sanshi invited me into her world – her nature studio in the mountains of Taipei. Every morning, we walk into the mountains and find a spot on a rock beside a creek and sit in silence for a while, a warm cup of tea in our hands. Beside us, an empty piece of paper on a stone. We find ourselves in the midst of motion and stillness, sound and silence, force and tenderness, light and shadow dancing on the paper. Jiang Sanshi comes here daily and paints to give expression to all that she perceives when she listens. I watch how the ink finds its way on the paper, how it interacts with the stone underneath, the dancing shadows, the wind and water. Painting, as I learn from her, is an attitude of openness. It is a way of breathing with all that is.
